WELCOME TO A PLACE OF BEAUTY AND PRAYER WHERE I WILL SHARE WITH YOU THE FRUIT OF MY CONTEMPLATIVE LIFE AS A MISSIONARY HERMIT IN THE BRONX.
I am sister Armelle, born and raised in France, I entered monastic life in 1995 in a community of semi eremitic life where I was formed in the monastic traditions of both West and East. Already an artist, I was immediately drawn to iconography that I practice now for 30 years. In 2013 I was sent in the USA where in 2022 I began to answer a call to continue my contemplative life among people in New York City in the spirit of St Charles de Foucauld. Now an american citizen, I live in a hermitage in the Bronx where I spend my day in adoration and icon painting.
